SVN Client identification in SVN server
Whether the SVN server will know from which SVN client the requests are coming from? If so, will it be possible to get the client identification information in hooks. Please clarify me on this. Thanks in advance.
Just curious, are you concerned with people using older versions of the client that could break things like merge tracking? If so, there's a way to check for that. download this: http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/subversion/trunk/contrib/hook-scripts/require-mergeinfo.pl put it in your repositories directory, then use this in your start-commit hook script:
REPOS="$1" USER="$2" CAPABILITIES="$3" /var/svn/repositories/require-mergeinfo.pl "$CAPABILITIES" || exit 1 # All checks passed, so allow the commit. exit 0(FYI, this example was for Linux.)
