From TortoiseSVN to SmartSVN 8.6 for Mac - Teething Problems

Hi    I am a non technical user and am having some issues related to moving from my Windows version of Tortoise to a new Mac environment using SmartSVN 8.6.    I have got everything set up and can commit and update from my repositories. The issue is that on my old Windows version I was given visual indicators as to when directories and files were in sync with the repository via a green tick mark or an x mark etc. There seems to be no equivalent visual clues as to what is in sync and what is not.    Am I missing something??    Thanks    Andy

Hi,  Anything that's changed should show in the files area at the top of the SmartSVN window - though you may need to select some of the icons in the top right next to the search box in order for it to show all file types. If you hover over each one a tooltip will pop up telling you which file/folder types will be shown when the icon is selected.  Hope that helps.

Hi    I have been trying to commit / update from within Finder so have not been opening SmartSVN but rather clicking on the top level directory and selecting commit / update. Is there a way to see which are in sync from Finder??    Thanks    Andy

No, SmartSVN is a self contained application unlike TortoiseSVN - you need to do everything within the app itself. It's worth having the finder window open alongside for file operations, but you'll need to use SmartSVN itself to do any Subversion related operations.

Ok thanks. I did not realize this was the case but I guess I need to now dig in to the full app.  Best  Andy
