Checkin returns Segmentation fault (core dumped)
Hi , While user is trying to do a check-in in a fresh working copy he got "Segmentation fault (core dumped)" Client is : RH6 64bit svn version 1.7.7 /var/log/messages shows kernel: svn: segfault at 18 ip 00007f5c5b425465 sp 00007fff787de250 error 4 in libsvn_ra_serf-1.so.0.0.0[7f5c5b41b000+28000] is this a bug , shall we upgrade client where is the core dump generated and how to check it ? Can we debug the check-in itself Thanks & BRs MS
From what I can tell it looks like there was an error reading from memory on the client machine. If this hasn't happened before then it'd be worth rebooting at least and possibly uninstalling, cleaning (i.e. removing config files etc) and then reinstalling subversion. If it has happened before or happens fairly often then it's probably worth running memtest or a similar tool on the machine overnight to make sure there's nothing wrong with the RAM.
I have asked for client upgrade to SVN1.8 but i still have one question , how to change the default installation path when running "subversion_installer_1.8" on redhat6
