block the creation of new branches
Good day for everybody we want to lock down the creation of new branches in a project, but we want to still using the existing branches, we should be able to commit code to those branches as normally is that possible? I added this to my svn_access_file [sandbox:/test1/branch] * = r this configuration blocks the creation of new branches but also sets all branches as read only, that doesn't work for me because I need to be able to commit code to the existing branches. hope you can help me, thanks a lot.
What version of SVN are you using? If you're using SVN 1.10 (or later) then you can use wildcards and the following should work:
Prior to that release you would need to create a different section for every existing branch. Update if you need to!
[sandbox:/test/branch] *=r [:glob:sandbox:/test/branch/*] *=rw
