Hi Derek, Thanks for trying uberSVN. You shouldn't be seeing that screen when you try to browse a repository. That screen is displayed only if no repositories have been configured yet within the repository browser. What Operating System does your uberSVN server use? Also if you access the Logs section on the Administration tab and view the ubersvn.log does it contain any errors?

Platform is Windows7. i cant easily reproduce it. There are some errors in ubersvn.log [02 May 2011 16:00:25] INFO (?:?) - Creating new team Everyone [02 May 2011 16:00:25] INFO (?:?) - Creating new permission [02 May 2011 16:00:25] INFO (?:?) - Creating new permission [02 May 2011 16:00:25] INFO (?:?) - Creating new permission [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-tomcat-win-all could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-ubersvn-all-all could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-updater-all-all could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:25] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-openssl-win-32 could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-httpd-win-32 could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - ERROR: ComponentVersion Name: uberSVN-svnbinaries-win-32 could not be found [02 May 2011 16:00:26] ERROR (?:?) - No entity found for query [02 May 2011 16:15:25] INFO (?:?) - Shutting down uberSVN [02 May 2011 16:15:29] WARN (JDBCExceptionReporter.java:100) - SQL Error: -3, SQLState: 08003 [02 May 2011 16:15:29] ERROR (JDBCExceptionReporter.java:101) - Connection is broken: java.io.EOFException [02 May 2011 16:15:29] WARN (JDBCExceptionReporter.java:100) - SQL Error: -3, SQLState: 08003 [02 May 2011 16:15:29] ERROR (JDBCExceptionReporter.java:101) - Connection is broken: java.io.EOFException [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:15:57] INFO (?:?) - About to compare ComponentVersionEntities [02 May 2011 16:18:59] INFO (?:?) - Creating new repository repository1 [02 May 2011 16:18:59] INFO (?:?) - Directory: d:\WANdisco\uberSVN\repositories\file\d\wandisco\ubersvn\repositories\repository1 has been created [02 May 2011 16:19:00] INFO (?:?) - Importing contents of pre-existing repository located at d:/WANdisco/uberSVN/repositories/repository1 [02 May 2011 16:19:00] INFO (?:?) - Directory: C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\tomcat\temp\sventon_config\RepositoryBrowser\repositories\file\d\wandisco\ubersvn\repositories\repository1 has been created [02 May 2011 16:19:01] INFO (?:?) - Adding team Everyone to addTeamToRepo repository1 [02 May 2011 16:19:01] INFO (?:?) - Updating authz file C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\conf\svn.authz [02 May 2011 19:15:53] INFO (?:?) - Creating new repository repository2 [02 May 2011 19:15:53] ERROR (?:?) - Failed to create repository [02 May 2011 19:15:53] INFO (?:?) - Directory: C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\tomcat\temp\sventon_config\RepositoryBrowser\repositories\repository2 has been created [02 May 2011 19:15:53] INFO (?:?) - Adding team Everyone to addTeamToRepo repository2 [02 May 2011 19:15:53] INFO (?:?) - Updating authz file C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\conf\svn.authz [02 May 2011 19:17:35] INFO (?:?) - Deleting repository repository1 [02 May 2011 19:17:35] INFO (?:?) - Also deleting repository disk location d:\WANdisco\uberSVN\repositories\file\d\wandisco\ubersvn\repositories\repository1 [02 May 2011 19:17:35] INFO (?:?) - Updating authz file C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\conf\svn.authz [02 May 2011 20:23:46] INFO (?:?) - Creating new repository repository1 [02 May 2011 20:23:46] ERROR (?:?) - Failed to create repository [02 May 2011 20:23:46] ERROR (?:?) - Directory: C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\tomcat\temp\sventon_config\RepositoryBrowser\repositories\repository1 could NOT be created [02 May 2011 20:23:46] INFO (?:?) - Adding team Everyone to addTeamToRepo repository1 [02 May 2011 20:23:46] INFO (?:?) - Updating authz file C:\Program Files\WANdisco\uberSVN\conf\svn.authz When adding a new repository i find the screen slightly confusing. It asks for a "Name" and "location". Is the location 1. svn url e.g. 2. a relative folder name under the default repositories location "C:\WANdisco\uberSVN\repositories" 3. an absolute path to the repository whats the difference between "name" and "location". On the follow on screen you can then choose to import an existing repository i.e. give the SVN URL.

Hi Dereck, Thanks for the log file, that give me something to look at to try and recreate your issue. I am assuming from your response that you are not still seeing that screen when browsing a repository. In answer to your question. "Name" in this context is just a logical name for the repository. "Location" is used as part of the repository url to access the repository and is used when creating a location directive within Apache to define the repository.

Hi Derek, Can you just confirm the operating system you've installed uberSVN on is Windows 7, and if so is it Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate? We certainly need to try and recreate this, as the repositories should be automatically configured for you and that that failed is a concern. Many thanks for your help here. Ian

yes its Win7, Ultimate. The problem IS resoved. When i used IE 9 and managed to "scroll" to the Continue button i was then able to succesfully browse the repository contents withing uberSVN. Both Name and Location sound like "logical" names and one is redundant. Thx Derek
